14. Beautified for mankind is love of the joys (that come) from women and offspring, 
and stored up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded (with their mark), and 
cattle and land. That is comfort of the life of the world. Allah! With Him is a more 
excellent abode.

14. Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: women and sons; heaped-up
hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) 
cattle and well-tilled land.  Such are the possessions of this world's life; but in 
nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (to return to).

15. Say: Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who keep from 
evil, with their Lord, are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, and pure companions, 
and contentment from Allah. Allah is Seer of His bondmen,

15. Say: shall I give you glad tidings of things far better than those? For the 
righteous are gardens in nearness to their Lord with rivers flowing beneath; therein 
is their eternal home; with companions pure (and holy) and the good pleasure of Allah.  
For in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.

16. Those who say: Our Lord! Lo! we believe. So forgive us our sins and guard us from 
the punishment of Fire;

16. (Namely) those who say: "Our Lord! we have indeed believed: forgive us then our 
sins and save us from the agony of the fire."

17. The steadfast, and the truthful, and the obedient, those who spend (and hoard 
not), those who pray for pardon in the watches of the night.

17. Those who show patience firmness and self-control; who are true (in word and 
deed); who worship devoutly; who spend (in the way of Allah); and who pray for 
forgiveness in the early hours of the morning.

18. Allah (Himself) is witness that there is no God save Him. And the angels and the 
men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no 
God save Him, the Almighty, the Wise.

18. There is no god but He: that is the witness of Allah His angels and those endued 
with knowledge standing firm on justice.  There is no god but He the Exalted in Power 
the Wise.
