47. O Children of Israel! Remember My favor wherewith I favored you and how I 
preferred you to (all) creatures.

47. O children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favor which I bestowed 
upon You and that I preferred you to all others (for My message).

48. And guard yourselves against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will
intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be received from it, nor will 
they he helped.
Yusuf Ali
48. Then guard yourselves against a day when one soul shall not avail another nor 
shall intercession be accepted for her nor shall compensation be taken from her nor 
shall anyone be helped (from outside).

49. And (remember) when We did deliver you from Pharaoh's folk, who were afflicting 
you with dreadful torment, slaying your sons and sparing your women: That was a 
tremendous trial from your Lord.

49. And remember We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: they set you hard 
tasks and punishments slaughtered your sons and let your womenfolk live; therein 
was a tremendous trial from your Lord.

50. And when We brought you through the sea and rescued you, and drowned the 
folk of Pharaoh in your sight.

50. And remember We divided the sea for you and saved you and drowned Pharaoh's 
people within your very sight.

51. And when We did appoint for Moses forty nights (of solitude), and then 
ye chose the calf, when he had gone from you, and were wrongdoers.

51. And remember We appointed forty nights for Moses and in his absence you 
took the calf (for worship) and ye did grievous wrong.

52. Then, even after that, We pardoned you in order that ye might give thanks.
Yusuf Ali
52. Even then We did forgive you; there was a chance for you to be grateful.

53. And when We gave unto Moses the Scripture and the Criterion 
(of right and wrong), that ye might be led aright.
Yusuf Ali
53. And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the criterion 
(between right and wrong) there was a chance for you to be guided aright.
