Alms

Alms for whom
....


And whoever among you is sick or hath an 
ailment of the head must pay a ransom of
fasting or alms giving or offering
1

A kind word with forgiveness is better than alms
giving followed by injury.
1 

O ye who believe! Render not vain your alms
giving by reproach and injury
1

If ye publish your alms giving, it is well,
1

Allah hath blighted usury and made alms giving fruitful
1

and that ye remit the debt as alms giving
would be better for you if ye did but know
1

It is not for a believer to kill a believer 
unless (it be) by mistake. He who hath killed 
a believer by mistake must set free a believing 
slave, and pay the blood money to the family 
of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity.

There is no good in much of their secret conferences
save (in) him who enjoineth alms giving and kindness
and peace making among the people. Whoso doeth that,
seeking the good pleasure of Allah, We shall bestow
on him a vast reward
1

And We prescribed for them therein: The life for the
life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the
nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for
the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. But whoso
forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be
expiation for him
1

And of them is he who defameth thee in the matter
of the alms. If they are given thereof they are
content, and if they are not given thereof,
behold! they are enraged
1

And of them is he who made a covenant with Allah
(saying): If He give us of His bounty We will give
alms and become of the righteous.
1

Those who point at such of the believers as give
the alms willingly and such as can find naught
to give but their endeavors, and deride them
--- Allah (Himself) derideth them.
Theirs will be a painful doom
1

Take alms of their wealth, wherewith thou mayst
purify them and mayst make them grow, and pray
for them. Lo! thy prayer is an assuagement
for them.

Know they not that Allah is He Who accepteth
repentance from His bondmen and taketh the alms,
1
