Present

Were ye present when death came to Jacob..
1

It is prescribed for you, when one of you approacheth
death,
1

That is for him whose folk are not present at
the Inviolable Place of Worship
1

That is more equitable in the sight of Allah
and more sure for testimony, and the best way
of avoiding doubt between you;
1

On the day when every soul will find itself
confronted with all that it hath done of good
and all' that it hath done of evil (every soul)
1

And when kinsfolk and orphans and the needy 
are present at the devision (of the heritage), 
bestow on them therefrom and speak kindly 
unto them
1

until, when death attendeth upon one of them, 
he saith: Lo! I repent now;
1

But greed hath been made present in the minds (of men)
1

O ye who believe! Let there be witnesses between you
when death draweth nigh unto one of you, at the time
of bequest--- two witnesses, just men from among you,
or two others from another tribe, in case ye are
campaigning in the land and the calamity of death
befall you.
1

Ask them (O Muhammad) of the township that was by the sea,
