Persecution

for persecution is worse than slaughter
1 

And fight them until persecution is no more
1

for persecution is worse than killing.
1

But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth,
that which is allegorical seeking (to cause)
dissension by seeking to explain it.

So often as they are returned to hostility they are
plunged therein. 
1

And fight them until persecution is no more,
and religion is all for Allah.
1

And those who disbelieve are protectors one
of another--- If ye do not so, there will be
confusion in the land, and great corruption
1

Had they gone forth among you they had added
to you naught save trouble and had hurried
to and fro among you, seeking to cause sedition
among you; and among you there are some who
would have listened to them.
1

Aforetime they sought to cause sedition and raised
difficulties for thee till the Truth came and the
decree of Allah was made manifest, though they were loth
1

Of them is he who saith: Grant me leave (to stay
at home) and tempt me not. Surely it is into
temptation that they (thus) have fallen.
1

But none trusted Moses, save some scions of his people,
(and they were) in fear of Pharaoh and their chiefs,
that they would persecute them
1
