"our Lord! Give unto us in the world,"

Thus Allah maketh plain to you (His) revelations,
that haply ye may reflect- in world and Hereafter
1

whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary,
illustrious in the world and the Hereafter,
and one of those brought near (unto Allah)
1

Whoso desireth the reward of the world, 
We bestow on him thereof; and whoso desireth 
the reward of the Hereafter, We bestow on 
him thereof. 
1

So Allah gave them the reward of the world and 
the good reward of the Hereafter. Allah loveth 
those whose deeds are good.

Some of you desired the world, and some of you 
desired the Hereafter.
1

Whoso desireth the reward of the world,
(let him know that) with Allah is the 
reward of the world and the Hereafter
1

And ordain for us in, this world that which is good,
and in the Hereafter (that which is good),
1

Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth
(for you) the Hereafter,
1

This world's portion (will be theirs), then unto Us
is their return. Then We make them taste a dreadful
doom because they used to disbelieve
