while ye yourselves forget (to practise it)

or cause it to forget

And forget not kindness among yourselves

Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss
the mark!

and forget a part of that whereof they were admonished
1

but they forgot a part of that whereof they were admonished.

Nay, but unto Him ye call, and He removeth that
because of which ye call unto Him, if He will,
and ye forget whatever partners ye ascribed unto Him.

Then, when they forgot that whereof they had been
reminded, We opened unto them the gates of all things
1

And when thou seest those who meddle with Our
revelations, withdraw from them until they meddle
with another topic. And if the devil cause thee
to forget, sit not, after the remembrance,
with the congregation of wrong doers
1

Who took their religion for a sport and pastime,
and whom the life of the world beguiled
1

Await they aught save the fulfillment thereof? On the day
when the fulfillment thereof cometh, those who were before
forgetful thereof will say: The messengers of our Lord
did bring the Truth
1

And when they forgot that whereof they had been
reminded, We rescued those who forbade wrong
1

They forget Allah, so He hath forgotten them.
