Children of Adam




 to place a viceroy in the earth
1

who will do harm therein and will shed blood
1

He said: Surely I know that which ye know not.
1

He taught Adam all the names,
1

showed them to the angels, saying: Inform me of the names of these
1

We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us
1

 O Adam! Inform them of their names,
1

We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam,
1 2
they fell prostrate, all save Iblis
1 2

Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden,
1

and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will
1

but come not nigh this tree
1

Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them
1

There shall be for you on earth a habitation and 
provision for a time
1

Adam received from his Lord words (of revelation), 
and He relented toward him
1

verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance
1

whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear 
come upon them neither shall they grieve
But they who disbelieve, and deny our revelations, 
such are rightful owners of the Fire
1  2

Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of
Abraham and the Family of 'Imran above (all His)
creatures
1

Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the 
likeness of Adam. 
1
