Then You Do



They do




















And when they reach the term (prescribed for them)
then there is no sin for you in aught that they
may do with themselves in decency
1

without turning them out, but if they go out
(of their own accord) there is no sin for you
in that which they do of themselves within their rights
1

And those who, when they do an evil thing 
or wrong themselves, remember Allah and 
implore forgiveness for their sins
1

and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did
1

And if We had decreed for them : Lay down your lives
or go forth from your dwellings, but few of them 
would have done it;
1

though if they did what they are exhorted 
to do it would be better for them, and 
more strengthening
1

They restrained not one another from the wickedness
they did. Verily evil was that they used to do
1

If thy Lord willed, they would not do so;
so leave them alone with their devising;
1

Thus have their (so called) partners (of Allah) made
the killing of their children to seem fair unto many
of the idolaters, that they may ruin them and make
their faith obscure for them. Had Allah willed
(it otherwise), they had not done so. So leave them
alone with their devices.
1

And when they do some lewdness they say: We found
our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us.
1

and, when the trembling came on them, he said:
My Lord! If thou hadst willed Thou hadst destroyed
them long before, and me with them. Wilt thou
destroy us for that which the ignorant among us did?
1

Or lest ye should say: (It is) only (that) our fathers
ascribed partners to Allah of old and we were (their)
seed after them. Wilt Thou destroy us on account of
that which those who follow falsehood did?
1

And cry not, beside Allah, unto that which cannot
profit thee nor hurt thee, for if thou didst
so then wert thou of the wrong-doers.
