Desire they

Seest thou not those unto whom a portion of 
the Scripture hath been given, how they 
purchase error, and seek to make you (Muslims) 
err from the right way

Hast thou not seen those who pretend that 
they believe in that which is revealed 
unto thee and that which was revealed 
before thee, how they would go for judgment 
(in their disputes) to false deities when 
they have been ordered to abjure them?

Ye will find others who desire that they should 
have security from you, and security from 
their own folk.

and seek to make distinction between Allah and
His messengers, and say: We believe in some and
disbelieve in others, and seek to choose a way
in between
1

They will wish to come forth from the Fire,
but they will not come forth from it.
Theirs will be a lasting doom
1

Repel not those who call upon their Lord at morn
and evening, seeking His countenance.
1

And if they would deceive thee,
then lo! Allah is sufficient for thee.
1

And if they would betray thee, they betrayed Allah before,
and He gave (thee) power over them. 
1

Fain would they put out the light of Allah with
their mouths, but Allah disdaineth (aught) save
that He shall perfect His light, however much
the disbelievers are averse.
