Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment

Is he on whom the word of doom is fulfilled (to be helped),

Turn unto Him repentant, and surrender unto 
Him, before there come unto you the doom,

Entreat your Lord that He relieve us of a 
day of the torment.

because ye did wrong, that ye will be sharers in the doom

Our Lord relieve of the torment.

We withdraw the torment a little.

the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass

Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings

Such was the punishment.

The guilty man will long be able to ransom himself

those who are fearful of their Lord's doom

the doom of their Lord is that before 
which none can feel secure

He verily would have punished them in this world,

The Jews and Christians say: We are sons of Allah
and His loved ones. Say; Why then doth He chastise
you for your sins?

Allah said: Lo! I send it down for you. And whoso
disbelieveth of you afterward, him surely will
I punish with a punishment wherewith I have not
punished any of (My) creatures

If Thou punish them, lo! they are Thy slaves,
and if Thou forgive them (lo! they are Thy slaves).
Lo! Thou, only Thou art the Mighty, the Wise
