BOOK and People of Book

there is a party of them who distort the 
Scripture with their tongues, that ye may 
think that what they say is from the Scripture, 
when it is not from the Scripture

ask of thee that thou shouldst cause an 
(actual) Book to descend upon them 

people of scriputre used to hide many things of book

And We decreed for the Children of Israel 
in the scripture: Ye verily will work 
corruption in the earth twice,

And verily We gave the Children of Israel 
the Scripture and the Command 
and the Prophethood

And when there cometh unto them a Scripture from Allah,

Among them are unlettered folk who know 
the scripture not except from hearsay.
