WHAT IS NEEDED TO BECOME THE PEOPLE WHO WARD OFF EVIL

...Worship your Lord,.....

...Hold fast that which We have given you, and remember 
that which is therein,.....

And there is life for you in retaliation, O men of 
understanding, that ye may ward off (evil).

Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for 
those before you, that ye may ward off evil

These are the limits imposed by Allah, so approach them not. 
Thus Allah expoundeth His revelations to mankind 
that they may ward off (evil).

..This hath He ordained for you, that ye may ward off (evil)

Why preach ye to a folk whom Allah is about to destroy 
and punish with an awful doom, they said: In order to 
be free from guilt before your Lord, and that haply 
they may ward off (evil).
