LORD

My Lord

When the night grew dark upon him he beheld a star.
He said: this is my lord. But when it set,
he said: I  love not things that set.
1

And when he saw the moon uprising, he exclaimed:
This my Lord. But when it set, he said: Unless
my Lord guide me, I surely shall become one 
of the folk who are astray
1

And when he saw the sun uprising, he cried:
This is my Lord! This is greater! And when
it, set he exclaimed: O my people! Lo! I am
free from all that ye associate (with Him)
1

I fear not at all that which ye set beside Him
unless my Lord willeth. My Lord includeth all
things in His knowledge: Will ye not then remember?

Say: Lo! As for me, my Lord hath guided me unto
a straight path, a right religion, the community
of Abraham, the upright, who was no idolater
1

Say: My Lord enjoineth justice. And set
your faces, upright (toward Him) at every
place of worship and call upon Him, making
religion pure for Him (only). As He brought
you into being, so return ye (unto Him)
1

Say: My Lord forbiddeth only indecencies,
such of them as are apparent and such as are within,
and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye
associate with Allah that for which no warrant
hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning
Allah that which ye know not

I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and
give good counsel unto you, and know from Allah
that which ye know not
1

I convey unto you the messages of my Lord

And Salih turned from them and said : O my people!
I delivered my Lord's message unto you and gave
you good advice, but ye love not good advisers
1

So he turned from them and said: O my people!
I delivered my Lord's messages unto you and
gave you good advice; then how can I sorrow
for a people that rejected (truth)?

Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me
from my Lord. This (Quran) is insight from
your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for
a people that believe.

Say: I fear, if I rebel against my Lord,
the retribution of an Awful Day

And they ask thee to inform them (saying):
Is it true? Say: Yea, by my Lord, verity
it is true, and ye cannot escape
